As a Yale-trained PhD in Computational Chemistry and the mother of a child with autism, Dr. Theresa Lyons experienced firsthand the gap between what the science says is possible and what families are actually given to work with. Despite a rapidly growing body of research, parents were left overwhelmed, guessing, and forced to make high-stakes decisions without clear guidance.
That disconnect became the catalyst for Navigating AWEtism.
Founded to organize the world’s scientific information about autism into a clear, structured, and actionable pathway, Navigating AWEtism helps parents move from confusion to confident decision-making. By combining rigorous science, strategic frameworks, and ongoing human support, Dr. Lyons created a platform designed to meet families where they are—and help them build meaningful, sustainable progress at home and beyond.
Today, Dr. Lyons works with families across more than 20 countries, collaborating with clinicians, researchers, and educators to ensure that complex autism science becomes accessible, usable, and truly impactful for the people who need it most.
